Becoming’ is a five-session, full-day event aimed at people who tell us “I haven’t really got a brand”. You do, you have! It’s how people see you. And it is what makes you especially excellent. So this workshop is all about how to identify your brand and communicate it brilliantly.
Our experts in London, in order of appearance, are Julie Guppy, a global marketing head who will explain what makes a compelling brand. Then Sophie Lindsay a wonderful lifestyle and portrait photographer who breaks through our hang-ups about appearing in photos. Then it’s me, I will speak about branding your Instagram. Antonia will teach us how to write perfect About Me statements and we will round the day off in conversation with Emma Hart, the director of Push PR, discussing how collaboration can grow your brilliant business.

We absolutely love the venue. It’s in the showroom of Push PR which is on the 4th floor of The Arts Building in Finsbury Park, a former warehouse that has been converted into cool office space. It has floor to ceiling windows (YES to natural light) and expansive views over north east London.
We always, always want the spaces we use for our workshops to be uplifting. Here’s why. People who pay to attend them are taking a day out of their busy lives to focus on their businesses and projects. Although we spend a lot of time putting the running order of speakers together, we also see that a huge part of the benefit is in the meeting of like-minded people. Honestly, we often have trouble getting everyone to stop chatting and listen!
So it has to happen in a great place. And on May 10th there will be great food too. A gorgeous local independent cafe called Salt The Raddish will be catering for us.
So here we go again, into the unknown of marketing a new event in a new location. We have learned so much about sales and marketing in the past 6 months that I honestly feel I should write a downloadable about it. Would that be helpful? There is so little advice out there for people launching small events on a low budget, believe me, I have looked. I will keep you abreast of how it’s all going and, of course, share pictures and video of the day over on @notaboutthekids Instagram. See you there.
